![]() Different profiles have different defaults in this regard, and I know people use different ones, so I'm just going to tell you how I configured mine:ġ. What you'll want to do is tell your Harmony that in fact you do want to control the power of your Shield TV, and then set the Flirc to recognize your profile's power off button. In case anybody is interested, I have figured out how to turn off the Shield TV with Harmony 650+Flirc (or more precisely, put the Shield TV to sleep.) Yes, I'm THAT OCD about keeping my power bill down (not to mention keeping my house cooler in Phoenix summers.) Spent way more time on this than I would like but feel that the solution is close. I've seen a couple of different methods in this thread to get it started but Everytime, I am having lag and the power toggle/sleep function doesn't work. I've got a 1st Gen flirc (do I need 2nd gen? I have an old harmony one which uses the Logitech software to sync on my Mac.ĭo I set up the 2019 shield as a home theater PC or game console? What model do you put down? Any idea what key the Netflix button is mapped to and/or how I can discover what key it is mapped to?īTW great product! I have three and am using them on the new Nvidia Shield Pro TV and two gen 1 Amazon Fire TV Cubes.Ĭan you walk me through your setup? Or point me in the right direction on how to set this up? However I was not able to discover what the button is mapped to. Any idea what is going on?ģ) One of the reasons I connected a keyboard to the Nvidia Shield Pro TV is to try and discover what maps to the Netflix button that is on the new remote. I even erased the button and tried to rerecord it but it still doesn't work. All other buttons I have recorded work fine. I hit the button on the remote and nothing happens. I recorded F8 to one of the buttons on my remote but it doesn't seem to work. Is there any way to do this?Ģ) By connecting a keyboard to the Nvidia Shield Pro TV I discovered that F8 brings up a text (not voice) Search which is perfect. However I would like to better emulate the behavior of the original remote where a quick press of the button instead of a long press of the button brings up the Settings. I captured the Esc key to my remote and when I hold that button down I did in fact confirm it works. From other posts I figured out that I can get this button to work with a long keypress of Esc. However there are three things I have not been able to figure out:ġ) The new Nvidia Shield Pro TV remote has a Settings button on it. when scrolling a list, flirc may not be responsive and continue to scroll a little longer than you want).I got most of the functionality of the new Nvidia Shield Pro TV remote to work with Flirc and a Logitech Harmony 700 using the instructions for the older Nvidia Shield TV remote and from a lot of the information in this thread. Key repeat rate may not be desirable (i.e. If nothing is assigned to the button then the button won't be mappable using Flirc GUI as nothing is being sent when it is pressed.Īlso, by default each button is assigned something different, when changing or adding buttons ensure the same action isn't assigned to different key, this will prevent "Button already exists" error when configuring Flirc through the GUI. ![]() the subtitle button may not have anything assigned to it for the panasonic device). Using the harmony software or, ensure all buttons have something assigned to them (e.g. In Harmony software or the online utility choose from one of the two option below (best to choose a tv that isn't the same brand as the one you are using) To add further keys to the remote control see this article You should be good to go - you don't need to program buttons using the Flirc gui, we've done that for you.(If you're using the harmony software you'll have to choose the device "Media center PC")ĭepending on the Harmony remote model you may have to create an activity that uses the "XBMC Device" Go to harmony software or and add a new device.Plug in Flirc and open the Flirc software - the software should automatically upgrade the Flirc firmware (if required).Make sure you are running the latest version of FLIRC GUI software
